Where I am from
These images are from a project where I was able to explore the closed hospital of my birth.
The hospital itself stood on the closed sections of March Air Reserve Base. Around 1996 the base was contracted due to military budget cuts and the hospital was soon closed. Once the hospital ceased operation, there were attempts to dontate the building and it’s abandonded equipment to the county of Riverside, CA. However, to bring the hospital up to civil code proved to be too costly and it stood vacant for nearly 16 years. In early 2012 the hospital was demolished to make way for a modern health care complex.
These images were taken in 2004 with the help of my father (who was stationed at March ARB at the time) and members of the March Joint Powers Authority whom gave me access to the hospital.
